Happy 24th Wedding Anniversary Roger & Shelia

Today is June 24th and it is our 24th Wedding Anniversary and we chose to spend the day working in the studio.  What a man!

Walls are going up and I decided to leave some messages for the next person who demos in this house.  I took my sharpie marker and went to town on the drywall.  (I am no artist as you can see).

Here is Roger starting to cover my artwork with the paneling.

The view from the side door of the studio out into our picnic area.  Of course Whiskers loves the bench.

A Visit From Anthony

Our great-grandson Anthony came to visit today.  What a precious little one he is.  His great-great grandmother Alberta sent him this teddy bear on our last trip to Florida.  The bear is bigger than Anthony is.....but not by much.  He just fell in love with it.

What a little ham he is.
Off to work, but at least got to see my little fellow before I left.

It's Bee Time!!

Tonight we met at Suzanne's house for bee.  We always have such a great time at bee.  The laughs are contagious and much needed.

Suzanne had completed several projects this week, of course and they were beautiful.  First is her Texas applique quilt.  She used flower fabrics to do all of the Texas shaped appliques.  It is gorgeous.

Suzanne is also the co-chair of the QOV for South Carolina.  She is covering the upstate of SC.  This is a quilt that she put together for our bee.  Each of us made two blocks from kits she had put together for the quilt.  It is beautiful and will be a stunning presentation quilt.
As always we have fun sharing our projects and techniques with each other.

Quilt Of Valor And More Studio Progress

Today Suzanne came over to use the longarm to quilt a Quilt Of Valor.  It is beautiful.  The studio will be coming apart after today for the final renovation.

Outside Roger and I have been painting the studio walls.  I chose this brick red color to try to blend in with the brick on the house.  The house brick are 54 years old and are weathered.  I think it turned out good.

 Step is done and curing.
I love the new doors with the blinds built into the window.  Great light and privacy too.
This is the view walking around the left side of the studio into our picnic area.  One door of the studio comes out here also.  Beautiful setting.

Demolition Time For Old Studio Wall

Wow it is hard to believe that we are finally closed in on the new addition and ready to take down the old studio wall.  Now this also means that I have to move more stuff out of my studio.....grrr....but happy grrrrr....as it means we will soon have more room to play.

This wall was the old entrance to my studio from the carport.  This view is from the new addition into the old part of the studio.  The wall with the pink insulation is coming down.......yippie!

This view is look from the old studio section through the wall being demolished into the new section.  You can still see things on the walls and design board.

Look....no wall.  Now we have one large studio.  I am sooooooo excited with each stage of the construction.  Like a kid in a candy store.
More progress to come.
Happy Quilting,
