A Take 5 Die Project Completed

A few weeks ago mom and I went through our stash and pulled out every green fabric we had and cut them with the Take 5 die from my Accuquilt cutter.  It is a wonderful die.  It only takes a 14-inch wide piece of fabric to make the entire die cut.  Which makes it a wonderful fat quarter friendly die.  With each cut of the die, (if using fat quarters you get 3 extra  4 1/2 x 4 1/2 inch squares since you can fan fold back) you get 1-8 1/2 x 8 1/2 inch square, 1- 4 1/2 x 8 1/2 inch rectangle and 3- 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 inch squares. x 10 layers.  So you can cut out a quilt very fast.

Needless to say mom and I had a lot of pieces cut in no time.  She pieced 2 complete tops in a matter of hours.

This is the Take 5 Die from Accuquilt.

Below is one of mom's quilts being loaded into the longarm.
Green #1 bound and ready for mom.
Amazing how many green fabrics we had in our stash.  This is only one of the two quilts.  And we had pieces left over!  We sewed 6 blocks x 7 blocks for these quilts.  Each block finishes at 12-inches.  So these are 72 inches x 84 inches.
Good job mom....aka Energizer Bunny Quilter!

Happy Quilting,
Shelia
